We stayed here for one week during our two week honeymoon. Drake bay appealed to us because of Corcovado and unspoiled natural surroundings of the Drake Bay Area. The Airbnb is in a fantastic location, situated just outside of Drake Bay. It felt very private, right on the beach. The property is beautiful, we loved being visited by scarlet macaws and white face monkeys. Our host, Alexis, was absolutely phenomenal. She helped with all our tour bookings, local recommendations and checking in each day to see if we needed anything. Alexis went above and beyond, and was the best host we’ve ever encountered. I would highly recommend staying at La Joyita, it’s a little piece of paradise that we will remember forever.

Amazing place to stay. We loved her home and hospitality. The house was very comfortable with a great area to relax inside and outside on the deck. We cooked several nights and also used the grill. Lots of towels and the pool area was perfect. There was other things to do such as ping pong. The beach is a 2 minute walk. The birds in the area were fantastic. The macaws were just right out the door. We also used the kayaks. Amanda’s place is the perfect place to stay. She recommended a restaurant for us when we told her we were going to King Louis Waterfall that was super. We cannot recommend her place enough. Great place to stay.

My family and I’s stay at this Finca was excellent. Lia was overly accommodating and had a solution for all problems that arose between booking and arrival to sierpe. Ruth and Raquel prepared great meals for us and accommodated our “decide as we go” itinerary very well. Luis is a gem! He shared a lot of insight about the location, surroundings, wildlife, and history with my Spanish speaking husband. Luis was always patient & knowledgeable. The excursions were AMAZING! Better than anything we could’ve paid for with a tour guide. Our stay at this property gave an authentic Costa Rican feel. It allowed us to truly experience the culture, and that is vital for my family and I when we travel. Arriving to, & departing from the finca on the boat with Luis, was the cherry on top. We didn’t require a rental car until after our stay at the finca, to explore other parts of the country. Everything we needed was provided.

I cannot say enough positive things about staying at this villa in the jungle! The early mornings listening and watching the macaws, to the peaceful short walks to the private waterfalls and swimming holes, this place is an oasis. But what really makes it perfect is Ashley and Andrew. Their story is inspiring and they do everything they can to make your stay perfect. Even the gardener Luis showed us how to open our own coconuts! Their dogs Baxter and Penny were just icing on the cake. Overall, this place blew me away. Just don’t be surprised to see a few (giant) bugs haha but overall, it was a perfect stay.

The house is in the jungle, near the beach close to Corcovado in the quite wild southwestern part of Costa Rica. As such, it takes some work getting to the place and a four wheel drive vehicle is strongly recommended. It is a lovely house for five people. Hiking trails are close by as are numerous beaches. Monkeys and toucans are in the trees that abut the the house. Tour guides for Corcovado will pick you up at a nearby beach so it is not necessary to walk (or drive) into town. Please remember to bring groceries and beverages for the duration of your stay.

I can’t say enough good things about Karin’s hospitality. The place is secluded and full of wildlife. She has all the things you need to cook meals, keep your drinks cold, and a wonderful outdoor shower. We hung our hammocks to watch a beautiful sunset steps from the front door. Some things to note about this location, it is secluded. One night is not enough. You must plan your meals and bring all your food with you. You must take care of the kitchen and keep food away from wildlife. You are surrounded by gardens and nature and all that comes with it! Karin will help organize your transportation by boat. We parked at Sierpe and took the 2 hour boat to her beachfront. You are then closer to the park tours than Drake Bay but you have no town to walk to for food etc. There are beaches to explore and I recommend bringing water shoes and snorkel gear.

I loved staying at Shane and Katy's place. The bed was comfy, it had the amenities we desired, and the views out over the jungle below and out to the ocean where so amazing. I've been to Costa Rica many many times and this is now probably my favorite place to stay. :-)

Such a magical place- the view from the house is absolutely stunning and makes the experience even more incredible. Wonderful little back patio with shade, lounge chairs, hammocks and lights and a fan to help control heat and bugs in the evening. Very homey beach bungalow feel which I love. Lots of little land crabs, salamanders and birds with the occasional lizard or Macaw flyby in the patio which makes the jungle experience more immersive! Central location making beach, markets, restaurants and trailheads very easy to walk to. A local there will help assist in any adventure planning, to answer any questions and was kind enough to escort us to the home when we arrived which was very kind. Kitchen has a microwave which is rare for CR. Beach towels provided. Highly recommend over all!
