The Lakeside River House

The cottage lies on the banks of Lake Rousseau. This is a very interesting lake. The lake is fed by the crystal clear waters of the Rainbow Springs system and the dark tannin stained waters of the Withlacoochee River. Back in the 1930's, the water shed was dammed up on its far western edge. The result was a creation of a 12 mile long lake with a river twisting through the center, all of which you will enjoy from your waters edge dock. Come and enjoy the Nature Coast right from the backyard.

We are just 5 minutes from enjoying everything that Homosassa has to offer. We are off a canal that leads to a nature reserve and is about 3 miles to Monkey Island. Canoes are on property so you can explore the unobserved beauty of the river. Skiffs smaller than 17ft are best to dock in our canal that leads to the river.

Privately gated 1950s fishing cottages on beautiful Lake Hernando We have 5 cottages on the same property all of which share the lake area, fire pit, lounge chairs, hanging chairs and our boat dock We have two dogs on the property; Moose a Doberman and Milo a Frenchie. Both are very friendly with all dogs/guest if you see them
