When the American navy had the submarine base in the Holy loch from the 60s to 1992 the land was converted to a car park , it was always full of American cars which the sailors and their families had shipped over from the states.

This offers extensive walking routes, including to the Benmore Botanic Garden, Pucks Glen & The Coylet.
