Absolutely wonderful cottage! The view out the back windows every morning was breath taking. Super peaceful and relaxing!

Everything was perfect. The directions were perfect, the house was exactly as advertised (maybe even better), the views took our breath away. It was such a beautiful location. An incredible place if you're looking to rest and restore. Absolutely private yet close to restaurants and attractions. Great place if you like to hike and commune with nature. Of course, you have to tear yourself away from the haven that is your own personal paradise perched high above shore where you can sit on your own covered deck with a fine glass of wine and watch the majestic blue herons swoop by, and the silence is only broken by the call of the gulls - heck, we even got to watch a bald eagle perch at the top of a nearby tree to check us out. Thank you, Andy, for sharing such a special place!

This was our second stay here with Teresa and Bill. We just love these old Maine cabins with so much character and water views. Everything was easy, and the cabin was immaculate. We've already booked our next stay. Thank you Teresa and Bill!

Very peaceful location! Easy to disconnect from technology & just enjoy the surroundings. Lots of great trails that are easily accessible nearby. Exactly what I’d hoped for with a long weekend away from home!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay! We came up for a friend’s wedding and loved the area so much we are already talking about coming back next year. Cabin was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. View was fantastic. We will definitely be back!

This was our second year staying at Cathy’s place. Gorgeous location and such kind hosts! Love watching the deer by the front door, and the morning stroll down to the breakwater. Such a beautiful town. Absolutely recommend.

Had a lovely two week stay at Holly’s cottage on White Head island. The house and the island are from a different era but the rustic charm only adds to the ambiance. Enjoy the scene from the large bay window in the kitchen with the extreme tides, fisherman, and the comings and goings of the ferry in full view. This cottage offers a rare chance to unplug and disconnect. The beds are comfy and house supplies are aplenty. There is a nice selection of DVDs if you want to watch TV. Plus Holly was a friendly and responsive host. To consider- Note the time difference on White Head island (Atlantic Standard Time · AST). Check both ferry schedules. Make a reservation for the Blacks Harbour/Grand Manan Ferry. There is about a 15 min drive from the Grand Manan ferry to the White Head ferry (which is free and about a 20 min ride). There are no stores on White Head so plan to bring all the essentials to the island with you.

First, thank you Robert for sharing your beautiful location with the rest of us. I am a Mainer and I can’t tell you this is one of the prettiest coastal locations you will find. It is truly at the end of the world. The house was amazing and very clean. The area is so quiet and relaxing. The deer that live in the back yard, you can almost touch, but don’t because they are wild animals. A true gem!!

Diane and Chris are gracious and generous hosts and their impeccably maintained loft is in a breathtakingly beautiful location.

Lisa’s house was an adventure back in time! She had maps on the wall that were 300 years old! Very impressive!! The captain’s house was beach front and so peaceful! We would sit on the large deck to have our morning coffees and watch the fishing boats! A hidden treasure to all! Lisa was very helpful and quick to reply to my questions! We enjoyed our stay with Lisa on Deer Island!!

Everything was wonderful! The house is comfortable and clean. The kitchen had everything I could want for cooking. I appreciated all the extra touches—like nice binoculars and a phone charging pad. The hosts are helpful, kind and welcoming. The view is stunning. There are a few houses on the road but you can’t see them from the cottage, just the magnificent cove. It’s so quiet I heard birds’ wings as they flew overhead. I saw pileated woodpeckers, northern flickers, greater yellowlegs, and many more. A doe came through the yard and an otter swam by. In the guestbook, some guests mentioned seeing seals. But the most awe-inspiring sight is the night sky. With no light pollution, the stars look endless. If you’re lucky, this is a great place to see the aurora borealis. It’s not visible in Maine often, but the deck has a North/Northeast view which is ideal. It didn’t appear while I was there but Jing-Huey sent me a beautiful photo from a few weeks before. Highly recommended!

This place is beyond words! Spent 4 days...booked 7 for next year. What a gem! Beachcombing, on your own private cove, the setting, the view... saw habour porpoise, seal, eagles and of course lots of deer. An incredible getaway to disconnect. Only wanted to stay longer! The place is simply perfect! Even the fog is fascinating and atmospheric. Never slept better! Thanks Ashley! Much appreciated...see you next year Deer Island and Chocolate Cove! This will be my 3rd summer enjoying this breath taking spot and the island is just a beautiful bonus ! Each year I met new dark harbour residents and I see the old faces I met years before , kind folks who will spot and chat with ya. I left one of my hummingbird feeders because I have never seen so many and I actually had one land on my feeding rings when it was on my finger !!! (1cup sugar to 4cups water and bowl) The steps out back were such a great add on this year :) another year of memories made at this hidden gem on the best part of the island .

We love staying at James's place. This is our second time staying here, and we plan to stay here anytime that we come back to the area for work! He's great to work with and the location is perfect. Relaxing, beautiful, and welcoming. The fire pit is a nice bonus! Thanks again, James!
