Our place is a cozy hideaway on the second floor of a historic building in downtown Story City. It is a sweet little town to relax in that is an easy 15-minute drive to Ames and all its amenities. The studio apartment has just been renovated into a Scandinavian-themed sanctuary. The living room has a fold-out couch that sleeps two, a smart TV, and a kitchenette. The bedroom has a very comfy queen-sized bed and the 3/4 bath has all you need to get away in comfort. Free parking is right outside.

Our farm is about 6 MI south of Hampton on a working farm. There is mile of gravel to get to our farm that is well maintained. We offer a guest house with 2 bedrooms. One has king bed and the other has a queen bed with single bunk above it. We also upon request provide single mattresses for extra guests. Large bathroom with shower and soaking tub. Complete kitchen. Coffee and bottled water provided. Our place has large outdoor area for lawn games and picnics. Great for family gatherings.

Just a few minutes from downtown Boone and the Boone Speedway, a short 17 miles to Jack Trice Stadium/Hilton Coliseum in Ames, and less than an hour to the Des Moines International Airport.

Newly remodeled apartment has a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker and cooking basics. Enjoy an electric fireplace in the living room. The sizable bedroom has a comfy queen bed and a large walk-in closet. A twin size daybed is in the family room. A pack-n-play is available. Enjoy the pool/ping-pong table and TV. There is also a fridge for keeping your food fresh. Soak up nature while you hike the trails around Oak Haven Acres, a 32 acre farm in rural Iowa. For your security we have a trail camera at the beginning of the driveway that won’t intrude on your privacy.

Cabin Cove By the River

Take a step back in time when you enter our little log cabin by the river. Built in 1949, this cabin is a replica of the log cabins built by the gold seekers of Alaska. Though modern in most aspects we have retained the native charm of unfinished wood, rough, hand-hewn logs and naked beams. The inspiration for the cabin was found by my great grandfather who spent time in Alaska working on the Alcan highway.

Pattee’s Place - 2 bedrooms 2 bath

I welcome guests to a safe quiet neighborhood. This is a cape cod style home with Bedroom 1 on main level and Bedroom 2 on second floor. Please note, there is no bathroom on the second floor. The kitchen, dining area, full bath and comfortable living room are also on main level. The laundry and additional 3/4 bath are located in basement. I do not charge a cleaning fee at this time.
