My home is surrounded by fields and wild-flower gardens in the hamlet of Khangok, 1km up the road above Old Padum. Our rooms and garden look out over Padum town, across the floodplain to Karsha. As Zanskar develops, the peace and tranquility of Khangok, just below Stakrimo Gonpa (monastery) become more and more valuable to me, my family and out guests.
