A beautifully peaceful spot to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our walks on the farm, and stargazing from the hot tub. The accommodation was clean and cozy. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the bathroom was neat with a large shower.

Came here last year as I grew up in the hermitage and brought my Thai fiance and she just fell in love with the place. The animals, nature, mountains and friendly people. Love it here and came back longer this time and will be back every year.

Most enjoyable stay. Very quiet, safe and peaceful for those who want to escape the rush of everyday life. The fact that the house has no electricity, gives the place an even bigger charm. Heleen is a super host and has assisted us in a most friendly and helpfull manner, even with issues not related to our stay.

Aside from Jackie and Adrien's warm hospitality and availability (which is phenomenal as you can feel they really love their slice of heaven), the farm, the cottages and the sights are simply spectacular. We saw Sables, Zebra, Springbok and Wildebeest. Not to mention that on clear nights, the stars steal all of the attention. If you're looking for a peaceful exit from the hustle and bustle of the city without heading too far out Cape Town, this is the perfect spot for you. Everything is as you see in the pictures, if not better. We had a great time and will definitely be back!

We loved the place and we had an awesome stay at the place, the cottage was supper clean and the environment is child friendly. The place had everything we needed for our stay. Our daughters loved waking up to the sight of friendly animals. We loved everything at Dolittle cottages!

Great spot, great view, awesome for weekend chill

A fabulous farm stay at Marie's! Die Kliphuisie satisfied our need for a digital detox and some much needed RnR. Situated in between the Witzenberg and Slanghoek mountains, we couldn't help but be inspired by our surroundings. A great option for an accessible and low-key farm stay.

Wow, we have never felt so relaxed. Our stay was during a very cold and rainy period and the cabin offered a perfectly cozy getaway for us to truly unwind and get away from our busy corporate Cape Town lives. The fireplace and pizza oven were highlights for us. The road leading up to the cabin had us a bit nervous at times as it was quite muddy and uneven, a bigger SUV or bakkie will be completely fine. We will 100% be back for a longer stay next time. We couldn’t recommend it more.

Really awesome stay! Only thing would be all the flies and bugs but that is out of the hosts control. There was doom and candles available. Had a really awesome experience. Very friendly host.

We loved this place. Beautiful views, lovely rooms and kitchen, great braai The only problem was finding the location - the point on the map in Airbnb is not correct, so please change it, so it was easier to find you

We stayed here for two nights as part of a longer trip from the UK in the Western Cape. This was such a lovely spot to just stop and relax. We loved the inside/outside space and a cooler/rainy day gave us the opportunity to enjoy a hot tub under the stars. The gardens and grounds are beautiful. Worth a visit to the cutting flower garden across the road. We also really enjoyed the opportunity to swim and kayak in the river. Breakfast hampers a great touch- delicious and beautifully presented. We also made use of ordering braii/ salads and veg which made self catering very easy indeed!

We enjoyed our stay a lot! Perfect place to have a relaxing weekend and we felt right at home on the farm. The complimentary bread, rusks and milk was a nice touch!

I hosted a bachelors weekend at Taylor's farmhouse over a long weekend and we had an incredible time. The house comfortably slept 10 of us and had everything a bachelors group needs and more for this type of weekend - a massive braai, big outdoor dining table, loads of couches, seating, cushions etc., a river to swim in and kayak down and much more! The area surrounding the farmhouse is beautiful, private and quiet but close enough to Stanford (5 mins drive) where you don't feel completely isolated. Taylor as a host was incredible - he was extremely responsive whenever I messaged him and sent me comprehensive instructions and info about the accommodation via PDF before we arrived. If I ever stayed overnight in Stanford again it'd be hard to stay anywhere else but this farmhouse! Highly recommend it, thanks Taylor!

Very laid back, welcoming and pet friendly hosts. We had an incredible stay. A peaceful and humble getaway in a space that teems with historic farm cottage appeal, and the dogs enjoyed the spacious lawns for rolling around. They have dams to visit and horse riding as well!

We had the most wonderful stay! The views are incredible, the house is cosy and comfortable. We had everything we needed and the location is central enough to get to different activities during the day. Highly recommend taking a stroll through the orchids followed by a relaxing soak in the woodfire hotub! Thank you for the wonderful stay, Michelle!

Beautiful home in an amazing location. Felt right at home - house is just far enough from the hustle and bustle of the Main Street to feel very private but all within walking distance of anything you need. Jan was a great host and so was Eric who looked after us very well. Will def be back for future trips.

Really wish we’d booked for longer. A beautiful, quiet oasis with phenomenal grounds, and great views. I was able to ‘power-down’ here and get some much needed rest. We couldn’t get the hot-tub fired up, which was a shame as the starry night’s would have been even more magical. Staff were really helpful and responsive when approached. They went out of their way when our car battery died - hunting down cables & removing the battery from their own car to give us a ‘jump start’. Thank you!! I’ll definitely be back.

A little gem in a stunning valley. Old style house means very spacious rooms and more house than the people it can fit (it can fit a lot!) so we were never on top of each other. 4 couples and kids stayed at Gledsmuir for 5 midweek nights during the school holidays as most of us had to work. This was a genius plan as the farm is large and lots to explore which kept the kids busy. We didn't get the best luck with the weather but with the fires on and the red wine flowing it gets really cosy. The team of 3 looking after us were delightful and helped whenever we needed anything. We will be back!!!

We had a truly wonderful stay here. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel incredibly welcome with her warm hospitality. The space was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. One of the highlights was the beautiful greenery and the many trees surrounding the house. It created such a peaceful, natural atmosphere that made us feel instantly at ease. Alida went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, and she was always available if we had any questions. The location was serene and perfectly situated for exploring the area. Highly recommended :) we’d love to come back!

The house is very comfortable and perfect for a relaxing family getaway. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious. The garden is secure with lovely lawns for the kids to play. Carin is very friendly and showed us around the farm. The setting is wonderfully peaceful and private. The kids loved all the animals!

Awesome spot for 2/3 families with children, alternatively 5 couples. Lovely entertainment room and very central to shops/ restaurants and wine farms.
