Restored 200 Year Old Church

Bookeen Hall is a 200 year old restored church about 20 mins from Galway City and within easy reach of the Cliffs of Moher, The Burren and Connemara. We are a short drive from Lignum (restaurant). We offer a private room (with 1 king size bed and 1 single bed) with a private bathroom. For larger groups there is a second room (with 1 king size bed), so we can accommodate up to 5. The nearest train station is 8 miles away in Athenry. We live here with our dogs and look forward to meeting you!

Some of the most beautiful walks begin in Carron which are mapped out to hike on your own. My home is next to the Cusack Way walk. A 15 / 20 minute drive from Killarney on route to the famous Ring of Kerry in the middle of the Reeks District voted in the top 5 destinations to visit in the Rough Guide. 7 minutes to Killorglin the home of Puck Fair the oldest festival in Ireland. This cottage is set at the foot of the McGillycuddy Reeks with a view of Carrantuohill. Perfect for hiking, walking and cycling... The space sleeps 2 people. The heating is electric. The stove in not in use for burning fuel ....

The wagon is a good place to escape to. Lie in bed in the morning, read your book, hear the birds sing, see the sun peeking over the mountain. On a fine evening, you can light a fire. You might see a fox, you might see a deer or a hare. One time I saw a red squirrel playing in the Oak tree. Bring your sketch pad, your journal, your knitting. This is a place to rest and recuperate. It’s also a good stop off for people walking the Beara Way.
