An easy 35 minute drive to the Town of Silver City you'll find a variety of fun and interesting things to do - from art galleries, antique stores, fine dining or fast food eateries. Make sure you plan a visit to Little Toad Creek Brewery, Distillery and restaurant for some local entertainment or Jalisco's for authentically delicious Mexican food! While you won't have network, satellite or cable tv, with wi-fi you'll be able to stay connected, stream movies or music using your own personal on-line accounts. As a private gateway to 6500 acres of NM state land against the 3 million acre Gila National Forest, you will find unlimited hiking, bird watching, dark skies for star gazing, wildlife, and abundant nature. This vacation home rental served as the original heritage ranch headquarters for what once was the home place of a 100,000 acre working cattle ranch. This 2 bedroom guest house has been carefully, lovingly refurbished, upgraded and (just slightly) remodeled, while continuing to reflect the charm and character of early ranch living in southwest New Mexico. Including the 16'x24' screened Veranda porch, you'll have nearly 1400 square feet of comfortable living space to call 'home'. New Mexico Cabin Rentals chose the historic heritage Double E Ranch headquarters as a representation of an authentic Territorial Style New Mexico ranch home first built in the mid 1800's. Its high ceilings in the living room/dining/bedroom enhance your sense of natural light filled spaces, with turn a "turn of the century" atmosphere. It is the perfect location to experience vintage ranch life as it might have been 100+ years ago, in southwest New Mexico. An intimate living room area includes a flat screened HD TV, dvd player and library, as well as Wi-Fi internet allowing you to stream movies or music and access the internet. VOIP telephone service provides for long distance calls within the Continental U.S. at no charge to you. Your may receive cell service if your cell phone is Wi-Fi compatible. You may need to go to change your phone 'settings', turn on 'wi-fi' and log into our network. Please, remember you are visiting a very rural area where all the sights, sounds and smells of ranching, farming and a slower paced life are blissfully still found. The large master bedroom has a gas fireplace, queen sized bed crowned with a magnificently hand crafted headboard, a 1930's double door oak armoire imported from England, vintage, hand painted porcelain table lamps. The original well used wood floors will take you back to a gentler time. Two vintage antique oak sewing machines with delicate wood carved trim serve as your night tables. Off the living room through double glass French doors curtained for privacy you will find bedroom number two. A bit smaller but with queen bed, rustic headboard, antique dresser and private toilet with shower. In your master bath, you will enjoy plenty of hot water to soak in the luxury of a deep cast iron, claw foot bath tub. A 1940's hoosier cabinet with etched glass doors provide plenty of space for your personal toiletries. The full bath has a pedestal sink and an over sized stall shower with a "rain water" shower head. Lots of natural light reflecting through a stained glass window off the Italian stone flooring fills the room with soothing shades of beige and cream. The kitchen offers custom cabinetry and shelving, extra large refrigerator/freezer, gas range, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, blender, a coffee maker, gourmet spices, sugar, flour, condiments, foil and charcoal bbq grill making it easy for you to feel right at home. You only need to bring your personal toiletries, preferred food and beverages (ground coffee?)! We also provide a bbq grill, charcoal, lighter fluid for up to one weeks stay. For your convenience, the pantry is supplied with a small supply of complimentary items such as sugar, coffee creamer, tea, cooking oil and spray, pasta, rice, microwave popcorn, canned meat chunks, foil. A few miles from your cabin you'll find our local convenience store/gas station. They are stocked with fresh dairy products, eggs, ice cream, bread, canned fruits and vegetables, frozen meat, lunch meat, soda, snacks - open 7 days a week. The extra large Veranda porch offers the perfect way to begin (or end!) your day.
