The Cozy Conifer Cabin is a special place on 10 acres of big trees. 25 minutes from Missoula & private since cabin is far & below Conifer Dr. Connecting 2 entrances is a large deck to relax, listen to wind & birds. Downstairs has a kitchen, bathroom, bunk bed room, utility room & living area with picture windows to watch deer. Upstairs is master bedroom with picture window, library and bed in middle & 3rd bedroom. Trails on property cross 5 seasonal creeks to bordering State & National Forest
Upstairs are 3 sleeping rooms; 2 bedrooms and den between with large library and 2 full beds. 2015 I installed a new AC upstairs in 3rd bedroom and with fan blowing it will cool entire upstairs rapidly. The "AC" bedroom has queen bed with memory foam topper, sitting chair, dresser, 3 windows with a really nice floor space next to windows for stretching or doing yoga and a door and stairs leading to the outside. The Master bedroom has sitting chairs, a queen bed and desk both looking out a really nice large window with a view of the forest. Downstairs is the living area with new futon couch (April 2017) with 8" mattress, log furniture rocking chair and 2 sitting chairs with ottomans. The large living room has two large picture windows facing the forest and a flat screen tv for netflix or PBS and stereo for plugging in or listening to Missoula stations. Off the living area is wood stove and kitchen with windows looking into the woods. There is AC on kitchen floor(below counter) that can be put in kitchen window during severe heat waves but in general downstairs stays cool. Also there is a large bathroom with claw foot tub(with nice view of woods out window while soaking), large counter top and separate shower. There's an outhouse next to the sheds outside if there is a bathroom traffic jam. The back of cabin has utility room(washer and dryer and sink), and small room with bunk bed with new mattresses. Top bunk has a nice view out the window and bottom bunk is a cozy, quiet and comfy space to sleep soundly. The bunk bed room has it's own separate entrance outside with covered awning. August 2015 I put new floor(plastic that looks like wood) in both bunk bed room and utility room and installed brand new high efficiency washer. There is a dryer and several clotheslines on trees by the deck.
Off the living room, there is a large wrap around deck connecting both cabin entrances with a metal table, chairs and a couple lounge chairs to enjoy the smell of the outdoors, wildlife, sounds of birds, and sounds of 5 seasonal creeks April to July and wind blowing though pine, tamarack and fir trees. Outside there is 10 acres to explore plus adjacent public lands; lots of wildlife, bird watching, hiking, picnic spots, rock hounding & wildflowers.

I run a mail order business in Sherwood Oregon so email, phone calls and text is preferred since I'm 8 hours away. Before your arrival please email via airbnb and when there please call or text(preferred) (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) if you have questions or issues. Before your arrival Merry Maids, Maid in Montana or my caretaker will have thoroughly cleaned the cabin for more than the $100 cleaning fee but worth it's worth it to have it professionally done.

Travelers can stay in a SPECTACULAR natural setting to unwind and enjoy nature. It is a GREAT way to get away from technology like cell phone calls and emails and internet and there is no cell phone service but there is a landline with free USA calls and wifi. Most cell phones can make and receive texts on wifi and if you need to make a good sounding call you can drive 2 minutes to the top of Conifer Drive for 4 bars. It's rare to find nice forest on acreage near Missoula since the Missoula Valley is semi-arid and this cabin is a place in the woods to enjoy solitude but is oh so close to Missoula (25 miles) that you can take advantage of shopping and dining but return to the woods later. The Cozy Conifer Cabin is a special place surrounded by a forest of mature Dougas Fir, Ponderosa Pine and Western Larch. The property, logged 100+ years ago has transformed from an overgrown forest to park like after a decade of thinning dead trees to stimulate growth of the larger trees and is now prime wildlife habitat. Since the forest is in such good condition, lots of deer and a multitude of birds call the property home and sometimes elk or the occasional black bear will wander through. The cabin was built in the 1980's from trees from the small meadow where the home now sits and is a quintessential Montana log cabin in the woods.
No raging parties, people live out here for peace and quiet and loud music or parties will not be tolerated. No fires allowed at the campfire ring when there are fire restrictions in place, fire district will post campfire restrictions signs on Sixmile Road when it gets hot and dry in the summer. In the wetter and colder seasons use common sense when starting fires in either the wood stove inside or campfire ring outside. Please do dishes before leaving. Dishes can be left drying on plastic drying rack that fits above sink or can be left on old towel(from laundry room) that can be put on counter to the right of the kitchen sink. Please leave garbage can at entrance to home on Conifer Drive for pickup on Weds by Republic Waste. Trash can be walked out or taken in car to driveway when leaving.
