Together with my wife, Malissa, we built The Tiny Tack House 5 yr. ago and have enjoyed living tiny so much that we want to open up the opportunity for others to "Try on Tiny" before deciding to do it themselves. Welcome to tiny, now enjoy your stay!
This is an actual lived in tiny house (we recreated in it for 4 years). That means there are scuff marks on the wall from our shoes, cat claw scratches on the ladder steps and some blinds that are a little rough on the edges (thank you SethCat for that). With my wife, together we built the tiny house in 2011. Over the course of seven months, we designed and built the well known Tiny Tack House. There are many stories and experiences that come along with this journey, and now it's time for others to try it out! We are letting people into our home, in hopes to inspire others wanting to make the change to tiny a little easier after staying in one for themselves. There are many tiny houses out there. Try to stay in several to see what you like, what you don't like... what you need and what you can go without. It's an experience, and one that we are excited to offer to others. We have listened and now you can stay inside The Tiny Tack House.
The house comes with a 6'3" long bench, perfect for the occasional nap, or just relaxing and snuggling up and enjoying a movie. With tons of storage inside, feel free to stash whatever you might not need away for another day. The folding desk under the TV gives you adequate room to use your personal computer or to enjoy your meals. When you are finished, simply fold the desk down and enjoy your entertainment area. There is no cable access, only internet connection to Netflix and YouTube. A huge closet on the main level has plenty of space for your traveling must haves. Store your luggage, coats, hats and other items in the closet to keep the room open and spacious. Since we both needed to work in the tiny house, we installed a second desk. Feel free to use it as your own desk, or extra eating space. You'll find plenty of books and art projects to work on while you are enjoying your visit to TTTH. The house has 12 windows total (11 of which open). The tiny house baths in sunlight and the view of evergreens on the property. In the sleeping loft you will find a queen sized memory foam mattress dressed with blankets on top of blankets. It will leave you feeling just too cozy to get out of bed. The bathroom is fitted with a wine barrel shower and a composting toilet (aka bucket). The kitchen has a small sink, two burner cooktop and a compact refrigerator with separate freezer and fridge space. So get ready to sit back, relax and enjoy tiny!

Atención a los huéspedes
-Malissa "I love to talk tiny! It's possible that we can work in some time to chat, but please ask me for available times. Since I do work from home, it may appear that I'm available all the time, but may be working on projects or freelance work. I would love to share my story, as well as find out about your own! I am also happy to let you do your thing, and get a feel for tiny on your own. Just ask if you need anything."
Otros aspectos destacables
I usually keep a handful of breakfast items like cereals, fruit and tea handy. There is also an assortment of pasta and grains for the nights you forgot to grab dinner. You will also find things like ketchup, mustard and oat milk in the fridge, along with other common items. Feel free to help yourself!
We have recycling and food waste composting on the property, they are located on the backside of the common house. If you can, please keep as much food waste out of the trash cans. The city recycled the scraps into usable compost instead of letting it go to waste in a landfill. The containers are labeled, but if you have questions, please ask. :)
Children over 2 years of age should be counted as a guest when booking.
****(Winter Months - November-March)**** At times, temps can dip well below freezing. How does this affect you - Water will be disconnected from the tiny house during the nights when it's expected to get below freezing. You will be supplied with drinking/cleaning water in the tiny house. You have access to the main house during your visit, so things like showers aren't interrupted. Water will be reconnected during the daylight hours. Thank you for your understanding. If there is anything you need from us, please don't hesitate to ask. :)
((((NO PARKING ON PROPERTY PLEASE )))). There is not much room in the backyard, so no parking on property please. There is free 24/7 parking on the main road, right across from the house.

Married to the love of my life for the last 7 years, together for 12, we enjoy traveling and anything involving the outdoors. I work as a full time editorial photographer for zulily and Malissa works from home as a Freelance 3D Artist. We moved here from New York City, where we lived for two years. Malissa and myself both grew up in Michigan, and still travel back to visit friends and family. We welcomed our daughter, Solaris, into the world, in early October of last year!
