Had a fabulous 2 nights at the cottage with my Mum. The cottage was cosy, warm and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed cooking a meal in one night and the other we drove 5 minutes to the local pub which served great food. We enjoyed 2 days hiking, the location was perfect for us. Coming back to a hot tub was the best feeling when you legs and feet are aching! The cottage it surrounded by fields and sheep, it was absolutely stunning. Amy was really helpful with any questions we had. Would highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at mini-moon. The cottage was modern, light and clean. The modern interior and home comforts made our stay feel luxurious. The copper bath is a lovely touch. Everything you needed was supplied. Nicola was a fantastic host, she was available whenever you needed her.

We had a lovely 4-night stay at Teapot Cottage over Easter 2025. The property was clean, comfortable, and had everything our family of five needed. The location was peaceful and picturesque—perfect for a relaxing break. The hot tub was a highlight—clean and ready to enjoy on arrival which was great for unwinding in the evenings. Inside, everything was well-equipped, from the kitchen to the cosy living areas. Communication from the host, Lammisa, was excellent throughout. Clear instructions were provided, and she was quick to respond to any questions. We’d happily recommend this place to others and would definitely return for another family getaway. Our family of four spent 5 nights here, and from the arrival goodies, to the recommendations on where to go, to the great communications , the hosts were fab from start to finish! We loved the accommodation, it was so clean and in a beautiful peaceful spot. The hot tub was lovely and warm when we arrived and very welcome after a long drive. The lake was fantastic and probably the highlight of our week as the sun came out to play when we were there and it was so lovely having the boats to use. We also took our own paddleboard and the lake was just the right size for getting around on it. Only thing to note is that the house is quite far from the nearest supermarkets and towns and even the local pub needs to be driven to due to the lanes, but that wasn’t a problem for us. The hosts had recommended pre-ordering a food shop which we didn’t do, but would if we stayed again. I’ve already recommended it to a friend and would definitely stay again if we are in the Scottish Borders! Thank you!

What a lovely place soon as you open the old wooden door. It was very clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfy I didn't want to get out. It was great for the dogs too, we will be staying there again. Kind regards Stephen

A great find. Beautiful rural location and very easy parking. The cottage was spacious and very comfy with all you could want for a short or long stay. I really enjoyed staying here and there were some great walks available from the front door. Penelope was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely return.

Really enjoyed my stay here would 100% stay again

This is a great place. We could’ve done with longer - struck gold with the weather so didn’t use the leisure facilities as much as we might have. Really well placed for visiting Keswick and Penrith. Whinlatter Forest took us about 30 mins to get to - great for walks, bikes, cafe.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we felt at home from the day we arrived. The cottage was perfect for our extended stay (a month) and we will fondly remember our time in the cottage, Frosterley and the Weardale and North Pennines area. Our hosts were very friendly, laid back and made us feel wonderfully relaxed during our stay. The cottage was warm, comfortable and well appointed and ideal for our needs. We would definitely recommend River View Cottage and the other accommodation in the courtyard to family and friends and we would definitely consider returning in the future for another break.
