Food Scene

Best Americanos in the city. Very cute, small and unpretentious - not a lot of seating space though.

Great Italian food in a cozy atmosphere that's tucked away on Toronto Street. Mercatto is a family chain that's been around in Toronto for over a decade (I think), yet provides a fine-dining like experience minus the costs.

Parks & Nature

Half park, half beach, half concrete jungle.... it's a really interesting spot and great for a sunny day. Also near food, drinks and other amenities so you can definitely spend a half day there.

Sightseeing

A classic and historic spot. On Saturday mornings there's a farmer's market, and Sundays all day there's a flea market. All sorts of food and market items available there. One of my favourites is the bbq grill at the very back on the upper floor - don't go when you're hungry as there's usually a lineup at lunchtime.

Everything Else

Completely different vibe from the rest of the city - hippies, hipsters, rastafarians, old markets and local businesses, exotic foods, local grocers, art and vintage stores, restaurants, pubs, music, parks... a neighbourhood with a really rich and diverse culture.

Cheapest place in town and close enough to walk if you're not in a rush... also near a LCBO and Dollarama for extra perks.
