Point Venture is a peninsula on the north side of Lake Travis about an hour from downtown Austin. It's a bit secluded, but that's what makes it special. A town of about 4,000 Point Venture boasts some incredible lake views, a private 56-acre beach park with boat launches, playgrounds, a disc golf course, and incredible waterfront for a day full of swimming, grilling, and enjoying the sunshine. Point Venture's restaurant, The Gnarly Gar, floats on top of the water in the middle of the lake and hosts live music events each weekend along with tasty frozen cocktails and delicious seafood and American fare options. A beautiful 9 hole golf course right in the heart of Point Venture offers amazing lake views, a cold beer after a great round (Caddie Shack Sports Bar), some live music options and the 512 Pizza truck. You will feel right at home when visiting Point Venture and I promise you will want to return before you even leave.

Food scene
The Gnarly Gar is a large floating restaurant sitting on Lake Travis in Point Venture. They have amazing frozen cocktails (try the Rum Runner) and live music on the weekends. Grab some fish food from the Ship Store in the back of the restaurant and watch the BIGGEST carp and catfish you've ever seen jump over each other to feast. Grab a 6 pack and some ice from the ship store to take home with you to enjoy on the deck.
To get to the Gar, turn left out of the townhome parking lot, stay on Venture Blvd. as it winds and turns (stay left where it branches after the golf course), go past the townhouse offices and turn left where it dead ends into townhomes. That street will take you down and around to the Gar parking lot. Head on down the docks to snag a table.
(TIP: the line is to order food - feel free to skip the line to grab a table and order drinks from the servers and then send a person or two up to wait in line to order food once you've looked over the menu)

Great restaurant (breakfast lunch and dinner) not far from PV. Reservations are recommended for dinner during the busy season. Try the calamari!

The Point Venture Golf Club is a 9 hole course with great lake views. No water hazards or sand traps, but the fairways are narrow and the greens are fast! Grab a couple drinks from the pro shop to take on the course with you (no outside coolers or drinks allowed).
512 Pizza Food Trucks sits outside if you're hungry after a great round. Open til 8pm in the evening. Pizza is fantastic!
The Caddie Shack Sports Bar is a great place to grab a beer after a round of golf. Or stop by for some live music on the weekends or to catch a game (they have the NFL Sunday Ticket!). Patio seating with TV's as well as indoor and bar seating. Beer, wine, seltzers and a couple wine based frozen cocktails are available.

Northshore Venture Boat Rentals
Local residents that rent jet skis, double decker pontoon party boat (captained), and ski boats. They will even deliver the boats/jet skis to the beach park while you're enjoying your day there. Would highly recommend!
