Deliplein used to be a notorious place to go out for sailors, but now it is a cozy plaza full of nice restaurants (Thai, Pizza and Ceviche amongst them). Great outdoor terraces and good place to get coffee during the days. Laid back atmosphere!

By far the most lively street in Rotterdam and best place to combine food with bar & drinks and enjoy a good night out (if you prefer bars over dancing). Better restaurants there: Supermercado, Ter Marsch for award winning burgers (if you are into mest). De witte aap is one of the most famous old skool bars in Rotterdam there.

Noordplein is good place to hang out, as there are more bars and restaurants on the square (or nearby). On the square: Containerbar Noord and restaurant Fermin (everything here is fermented). Nearby you'll also find Brewery Noord (Google it, not easy to find), coffee bar Hopper.
