Waupoos Estates is the oldest vineyard in the county, and in our opinion, has the most incredible grounds. Located just 7 minutes by car, it is an absolute must-see. Their whites and roses are primarily on the sweeter side. We prefer dryer wines, so we tend to go for red such as their Baco Noir Reserve. Don't forget to check out the chocolate shop and grab a scoop of gelato!

This is the infamous 'purple barn' vineyard. Not only is this a very social media-worthy spot, but the wine is deliciously enjoyed in their beautiful garden patio.

The Grange is simply stunning: a picturesque old barn, tranquil pond, and vines on site. They make a really nice Reisling.

This place is entirely devoted to bubbly :) We love their Les Etoiles, which is a dry sparkling wine, as well as their Borealis, which is a dry sparkling rose.

I know it's a distillery, but one of my favourite things about this place is the free range chickens running loose on the property :-) I also love their whiskey barrel aged maple syrup, and their maple whiskey. Definitely go for a tasting!

Their wood fired pizzas are delicious accompanied, of course, by a glass of cider. We prefer their Tortured Path or Waupoos Premium cider (we prefer dry cider). If you prefer sweeter ciders, give the County Peach or County Pear a try. A perfect place for lunch. Get there early to get a table!

Really excellent wood-fired pizza and beer! I love the simplicity of the basil & mozzarella pizza. You can tell a lot about a pizza place by how well they make a classic Margherita pizza. Stig loves the Judge German Helles Lager.

I actually used to work here about 10 years ago :) The Inn is quintessential county fare. They have a beautiful, shaded patio right beside Lake on the Mountain provincial park. They are open for lunch and dinner. I love their classic Tortiere with chili sauce and the Mountain Poutine. Try a pint of their cream ale, brewed on site.

Excellent for brunch, lunch, dinner, and dessert! Whichever option you choose, you can't go wrong. My favourites are the Enchilada, the Chicken Asparagus (with extra sauce), and the Toffee Crunch :)

While the Sandbanks Provincial Park is one of the top reasons people come to visit the county, we prefer the Sandbanks Dunes Beach. Both can get extremely busy in the summer. We recommend that you arrive when the park opens at 8am, or at least before 10am, so that you don't have to wait in line.

There are only a couple places in the world where you can see one lake perched 60m high above another. One is in Finland, and the other is a 5 minute drive from our cottage. This is a great place for a picnic lunch as you watch the Glenora ferry go by on Lake Ontario. We recommend visiting the Inn restaurant or the Miller Cafe while you're in the area.

Bloomfield is located just west of Picton, and is full of small town charm. I love visiting Cannery Row (great for home decor and gifts, while also learning about the county's history), Dead People's Stuff (the best name for an antique shop IMO), and Slickers Ice Cream.
