Food scene

There are so many different cuisines to temped you in Southport I recommend to simply take a walk to discover what’s available or if you have a specific taste, see trip advisor or just eat as some great restaurants are just off centre. There are also two Wetherspoons on Lord Street both have outside seating as well. .

Sightseeing

A walk around King’s Gardens and the lake filled with swans and other birds is a must whilst in Southport
The cafe by the lake often has live singers, sit at an outside table & enjoy a drink with live music entertainment. There’s a mini golf course. A children’s play area. Hire boats on the lake. Feed the swans & other birds. Walk thought the gardens & smell the flowers. Sit in one of the Victorian shelters and watch the world go by. Above is Funland you can spend pennies in there for hours of amusements.

Southport beach is vast and the sea can go out at low tide for miles. It is a clean beach. But be careful because when the tide comes in it does so fast and you do not want to get caught out, check tide times. Also although you can see Blackpool tower from the beach, don’t be fooled at how close it looks you cant walk there because there estuary into Preston is between. The bird sanctuary is to the right of the beach walk along the coast road to get there.

Sunsets on the west coast are always spectacular especially on a cloud free day . You can Drive onto Ainsdale Beach, there is a charge. The sand dunes are brilliant fun to explore.

A cute village on the Northern side of Southport with a couple of very old quaint pubs and Botanic Gardens.
