Mer des Rochers: Above the village of Sauve is the famous 2 km hike over the Mer des Rochers (Sea of Rocks). This site has magical energy and a history of Sauvians being saved from invaders. Close to the sea of rocks is the vestiges of a “secret garden” on the hill, where foods were grown for royalty and to survive when under attach by invaders. The trail is on rocks, so be sure to bring and wear good sturdy shoes, bring walking sticks if desired, carry water and bring your camera or phone camera. Take time to enjoy this magical place as the village of Sauve sits on massive rocks formations

Saturday is the big day for markets; head over to Sommieres, Uzes, La Vignan (about an hour away but great) or the small one in Sauve. Wednesday- go to Quissac Check the website for other days with Tourist office

If you like Caves and want to learn more about them, there are 4 great ones in the area. We have some pamphlets in the cottage and you can check with the tourist office as well. All are nearby and some may need reservations.

If you are looking for an easy morning stroll, there are some beautiful ones a 5 min walk: - Voie Verte (go right or left and keep on walking) -By the River at the base of Sauve. Go to the parking lot where the restaurant La Servane is. Facing the village, go left and walk to the end where you see big rocks. Walk through and you are on the old river walk. You can go to the end where the Moulin is and turn around or turn right at the Gite (on bridge) and take the Rive droite. You will loop around to the other side of the river. (about 45-1 hour walk).

At the bottom of Sauve (at the cemetery parking lot) is Frederick our friend and Rotisserie extrordinare. Please ask us for his phone number and call and reserve a Poulet et Frites for dinner or lunch and maybe some ratatouille. Pick up and enjoy your meal.
