Sightseeing

Fort Monroe is a no-longer active military fort with a great deal of charm and a short drive away. People often can be found hosting their wedding at the hotel on the fort, or enjoying a cup of coffee or ice-cream from the Firehouse coffee shop while enjoying a stroll of the area. There is a museum where visitors can learn more about the area or simply stop and read the may plaques located along the area. A site worth visiting.

Great if you want to visit a historic HBCU. The campus includes a museum that houses a private collection and rotational exhibits. Additionally, there are conferences and sporting events at the Hampton Coliseum.

Such a fun casual dining seafood spot. Haven’t had anything on the menu that isn’t good.

Great view of the water in a casual dining seafood restaurant. The fish sandwich is my favorite but if you are into crake cakes, there blacked crab cake is wonderful.

Most people drive

Car is the best way to get around. Most people in the area drive, some streets have limited sideway access, Uber/Lyft may take 15-20 minutes to arrive. There is a bus stop 1 min away from the house and bike lanes when you get one street over to Pembroke Ave.
