Chef Alex has created a gathering place loved by locals and visitors alike. You can enjoy either a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner. They are closed on Sundays and Mondays though. They use local vegetables in season. Everything is fresh and they usually have fresh caught fish and seafood on the menu. There are many vegetarian options and ask about their vegan choices. The steaks and beef stew are good too and are served with local potatoes and carrots. A good selection of wine and beer and they bake all of their breads in house. The coconut cream pie is sooo good. The salads are super fresh and in the summer are made with locally harvested greens. They serve espresso drinks and have a to go bakery case. A lot of the dishes feature Greek and Mediterranean influences. The atmosphere is warm and cozy and usually bustling. I recommend trying to get a seat upstairs. They have a larger room to rent in back for private parties and they also cater events.

I love the beer at Bleeding Heart Brewery, but I also love the food. They have moved into a cool warehouse space in the old Farmers Coop building under the historic water tower. The founders are locals and are known for both their irreverent attitudes and dedication to Palmer, as well as good beer. They have a revolving menu often with a theme like French bistro, and they decide on different themes each day. You order at the counter but there is seating inside and the decor is great, funky and found objects. There is now outside seating as well. They are developing an outdoor courtyard area with yard games and they have a covered outdoor seating area. A cool home goods store is going in next door. My favorite beer right now from Bleeding Heart is Grounds for Divorce. I also like Valley Trash. Some of their beers are made with locally harvested ingredients like beets from local farms. They are growing rapidly but keep a very local vibe as Palmer becomes a destination for locally brewed beer.

I have been coming here for 40 years! A local standard, the sauce is great, the pizzas are consistently delicious and they serve a surprisingly good steak dinner with all of the side. The also have some great pasta dishes (my personal favorite is the spaghetti with meatballs). They make a great large Greek salad. The other cool thing is they will deliver to the farm. Just tell them you are staying at Mountain Field Farm 13150 E. Scott Rd. Palmer. You might have to meet them outside. But they are only five minutes away so it's also easy to go there in person or grab take out.

The atmosphere is clean and modern and bright. We love heading there for breakfast in the morning or for a pick me up later in the day. Good wifi, super friendly staff and lots of comfortable seating.
