Amazing food. Not cheap but definitely worth a visit to this small, old-fashioned public house set in the picturesque village of South Pool (3 miles away). One of our favourites for a special occasion

Voted best Pub in Devon and rightly so. Honestly the best Sunday roasts around. If you are feeling fit, park your car at Bigbury and walk via the coastal path to Ringmore. It is a bit hilly but it is also beautiful and the hour long walk should mean you have earned your lunch. A hidden gem (don't forget to book in advance).

Parks & Nature

Bantham Beach is hugely popular and for good reason. It is a beautiful flat sandy beach, especially at low tide and offers great surfing when conditions are right. The Gastrobus provides food which is remarkably good (we especially like their burgers). A short walk to The Sloop Inn offers a cosy alternative with a variety of food to suit most palates. Further up the road is The Bantham Stores, which has a particularly good terrace with excellent views towards Burgh Island. A great place to have breakfast when the weather allows.

Shopping

Browse the streets with one off boutiques, galleries, fab kitchen/home store, local delis and the obligatory Cranchs sweet shop!! Also the "chain stores" of Quba Sails, Jack Wills, Crew, FatFace, SeaSalt amongst a few! Head to The Ferry pub and perch on the wall with a drink and watch the boats go by.
