This part of Drapanias can be accessed via the main road to Kissamos. The small traditional village has 3 traditional Greek taverns which serve Greek food and are more than happy to play a game of Tavli (backgammon) with you. The village has two bakeries in which you can find homemade pastries, bread and cakes and there is also one small shop, selling basic products. A large church is at the heart of Drapanias, situated in the square. The church holds regular services on Sundays and is the soul of many of the locals.

Sightseeing

Komolithi is one of the most bizarre and interesting landscapes in Crete. They are met by the village Potamida (Kissamos province), at the valley of Tyflos River, about 35km west of Chania. These are alternating small hills consisting of soft clay, which due to time erosion, have turned them to wonderful conical shapes. The landscape is reminiscent of Cappadocia and a similar place is only found at the area of Asproulas in Koufonisi islet, Sitia province

Arts & Culture

In Kokkino Metochi, near Drapanias, or more specifically at the position Trevizana, the visitors can still see the ruins of the imposing Venetian mansion of Trevisan. It was a two-storey building with the ground floor being used as a warehouse and the upper floor as a residence. The crest of the house Trevisan is engraved above the main door and the villa is the best model of a 1500s holiday house in Crete.
