Steeped in history and very interesting - even for non historians like me!! Great place to walk as well. You can go from one site to the next and see excavations, museums and camps where the Romans lived during their time keeping the Scots and English apart!

Food Scene

The home made cakes and scones are really more-ish and all food is local and cooked on the premises. They do a very nice lunch as well. next door is a lovely gift and tourist information shop -- nothing tacky but local rugs, pottery, fudges and homemade jams. At Christmas they have super "different" decorations and ideal presents for all the family.
