Hip and trendy bakery with homemade sweets to die for. This place boasts a wide variety of donuts, cupcakes, cookies, cookie bars, muffins, and savory pastries and scones. There's a peanut butter and jelly donut, along with a grapefruit lavender. It's a foodie place for sure, but if you are craving a classic cinnamon and sugar donut with a cup of coffee, you can get that, too. This is a local place not to miss.

Mother Bear's Pizza is a classic IU experience. Known for its graffiti'd walls and delicious menu of salads, sandwiches, and of course, pizza. If you are not in the mood for pizza I highly recommend the toasted Ham and Cheese sandwich or the New Orleans-style Muffalatta sandwich.

There's no denying Pizza is a staple of a college kid's diet, however there's more than one way to make a pizza and this buffet restaurant has pizza 101 ways. Thin crust, thick crust, just cheese or crab and blue cheese. A variety of pies sit under hot lamps to keep the crust crisp and to make it available to diners. This is a great place for a large group or a couple and if you don't see a pizza combination you like they take special orders. A large salad bar balances out the meal. This is buffet but waitresses also make sure you have everything you need.

4th Street is Bloomington's downtown is known as "International Row" There are several Thai restaurants, along with great places that serve Korean, Indian, and Chinese. Siam House is a Bloomington classic that has always been a favorite. The inside is decorated in a Thai style but it's not overwhelming so as not to take attention away from the authentic food. If you like the stereotypical Pad Thai... it's good here, but if you want to venture into more traditional Thai foods of curry of red chili flavors, there are many great options on this menu that make this worth your time. Prices are reasonable too.

Hands down the best breakfast in Bloomington! The homemade tamales are a must-have, but the decision is so difficult because the items on the menu change seasonally and are all fantastic. The ingredients are fresh and cooked perfectly. The bakery items -- the Sunday biscuits, the vanilla croissant, or the homemade granola are all a local favorite. Hot tea comes served with a timer so you can steep to your satisfaction and coffee has a menu all it's own, with many choices, as well. No reservations are accepted so be prepared to wait. The place is small and one of the most popular. There's a lunch menu with items equally unique and delicious. Dinner is also served at their other location.

With a kitchy interior this place is big enough to seat quite a few people so the wait tends to be shorter than other popular places. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are all great here. The biscuits served as part of the breakfast menu have homemade jams and butters that come with them that make them SO GOOD! Parking can be tricky since this restaurant is on Kirkwood, but it's worth the walk.

The Farmer's Market is a 40 year tradition in Bloomington that just keeps getting better. From arts and crafts to the best tasting, local apple butter and honey you've ever had. This event runs every Saturday from 8am -1pm April through November.
