People go to Acadia Nat'l Park which is wonderful and there's lots to see and do but here are some special spots.
Get a tides app and go 2-3 hours before high tide. Often spectacular waves crashing on granite rocks and I've never had a bad day at Schoodic, It's just magical. Go, enjoy and 20 minutes after you get there you'll take out your phone, call your therapist and say 'I don't need you anymore.' :)

Tidal Falls RoadRight in Hancock is a sweet spot with a reversing falls, picnic tables, outdoor concerts on a Monday evening. It's a conservation site , used to be a working lobster pound. The turnoff is on the East Side Rd about two miles from Jellison Cove going back towards Rte 1.
Not a difficult day hike with spectacular views. Take a jacket just in case as it can get breezy on top. About 1.5 miles up.

About an hour from Hancock with an easy mile hike in to spectacular oceanside cliffs. Well worth it to fit in with a trip to Machias, Lubec Eastport. Too bad there's not a pic but there should be on the web site.

Want a charming town like Bar Harbor but without all the tourists? Belfast is a winner with great shops, restaurants and the farmer's market on Sat is a gem. Beautiful harbor with lots of boats, scenic park and only about 40 miles from Hancock.

You want to hike? Baxter is the place to go. hiking Kathadin is an experience worth going for but almost 3 hours from Hancock so leave early and pack your own food, plenty of water (two bottle min pp to do Kathadin).

Another nice day trip could be to Deer Isle, Stonington and Castine. Here's a pretty good guide: https://www.deerisle.com/maps-island-guide/ but just going and exploring is fun and it's a pretty drive. Another great area town is Blue Hill.

Restaurants
Of course restaurants depend on what you like but from the informal to the pricey but worth it here's our list..if something isn't on it or you have a question, just ask, we know many of them. For lobster, there's no 'lobster pound' one more special. Pick one with a view?

Since Ironbound got a new chef last year they vaulted ahead and could tie Salt Box for our fave. Great atmosphere and food, not to be missed. Tell Leslie Harlow hi for us, she'll take care of you.

Lots of good place in Bar Harbor but for good food, atmosphere and service Havana's is great. They have an outdoor patio/bar that's terrific.
