The Sherwood is a funny little beast of awesomeness, which is why I call it my 'happy place'. It has everything from morning yoga classes, to delicious locally sourced meals & THE quirkiest mix of indie live music gigs on the south island. Plus there are often weekend workshops, midweek roast dinner specials & a monthly open mic songwriters night sitting on Persian rugs with an organic orange wine. It's everything to everyone & has easy parking cause it's not QUITE in central Queenstown. BOOM!

Central Otago really is an amazing part of the world with SO many amazing activities...here are a few of my favorites that are close to home.
We are literally at the base of this iconic mountain range, so hop in your car (all-wheel drive highly recommended in Winter - MUST carry snow chains for your car tyres) & head on up! You can buy a day pass & hire gear if you need to. Group lessons start at 10am & 2pm & you don't need to book in advance - just arrive on the mountain 45-60mins prior to get yourself geared up & ready in time. The facilities are great & the beginner areas are VERY easy. If you need a break, there is a big deck, restaurant, bar, open fireplace & retail store to keep you amused too. We'd appreciate if you let us know prior to arrival if you are bringing ski gear & wish to dry your snow clothes on site - we will do our best to make this possible in the walk in robe. We are a family of skiers & boarders, so you will see us up there at LEAST two days a week if not more!
