Walks on the Offensee and the Langbathsee

The Offensee is located at the foot of the Dead Mountains and is a nature reserve. A well-laid hiking trail leads around the lake, which, together with the beautiful winter landscape and mountain scenery, is a recommended destination. The two lakes Front- and Rear Langbathsee are also beautifully situated alpine lakes. Both lakes are nature reserves and can be recommended for a visit (hike on the right bank - left side for cross-country skiers). Since there is no public bus connection to these side valleys, you can only reach them with your own car or taxi.

Ice skating on the near lakes in winter

When the Front lake Langbathsee and the Offensee lake are frozen over (possibly from mid-January to mid-February), nothing stands in the way of your ice skating fun. If the ice conditions are good and free of snow, you can whiz along almost the entire surface of the lake. But be careful: entering the ice rink is entirely at your own risk. If the outside temperature is too warm, you can switch to the artificial ice rink in Gmunden.
