THE ELVIS MUSEUM Come and experience an atmosphere of southern charm and style at the Memphis Mansion. The Elvis-museum opened in 2011, and is based on a large privately-owned collection of Elvis memorabilia, all of which belongs to Elvis Superfan and CEO of Memphis Mansion, Henrik Knudsen. In 2013, we built a replica of Elvis’ birthplace in Tupelo, colloquially the Tupelo house, a small wooden house of about 50 square meters. Nowhere else in the world can you see in one place where Elvis was born in 1935 and where he lived from 1957 until his death in 1977, just 42 years old.

“Islands between land and water” tells the story of a unique piece of Danish architectural history that draws threads to Port Grimaud and Venice. The architects Friis and Moltke were responsible for the architecture, while the artist Emil Gregersen was responsible for creating a unique visual expression, which he solved by painting the houses in different colors. The construction of Øer Maritime Ferieby became an expensive pleasure, as the budget was exceeded by several lengths. A bad economy was synonymous with Øer Maritime Ferieby for the following many years, which took a heavy toll on the stand of the resort town. However, the potential was still there, and a visionary entrepreneur by the name of Mogens de Linde could also see and feel it, when in 2006 he decided to rebuild Øer Maritime Ferieby, like a Bird Phoenix from the fire. Today, the construction company Mogens de Linde is out of operation of Øer Maritime Ferieby, which is today run by an owner-elected board. Islands Maritime Ferieby was made in an old gravel pit, and the various islands are connected by 7 small and cozy bridges. Øer Maritime Ferieby is surrounded by a closed system of canals, which allows you to anchor your boat right next to your holiday home.

The wooden frigate ‘Jylland’ is one of the longest and most significant historic wooden ships in the world. Built in 1857-1860, it was both the first and last warship in the Danish navy with an originally inbuilt steam driven engine and sails – a cutting edge hybrid of its time, superior in speed with its long and slender hull. It survived 18 hits during the battle of Heligoland 1864 and worked as a royal ship, sailing King Christian IX to the Faroe Islands, Iceland and Saint Petersburg in 1874 and 1876. Since then, the old warship has functioned as lodging for soldiers and children of the rural districts of Denmark, as exhibition facilities of the National Exhibition of 1909 and others. Many times, it has faced the destruction of slow decay and being sold for scraps. Thanks to ardent people, skilled craftsmen and generous foundations, the proud ship survived and now resides in its dry dock in Ebeltoft. WELCOME ABOARD!
