Mtn Bike Trails
The Back 40 is a massive mtn bike trail system on the EAST side of Bella Vista. This trail system weaves its way up and down the ridges and valleys that undulate across the east side of Bella Vista, so you’re in for grinding climbs that alternate with fast, swooping descents. The 21-mile Back 40 Loop encircles the whole network with additional miles of trails crisscrossing the interior. Parking at the Lake Ann Trailhead will put you in the epicenter, but there are several other access points. Memorable sections include The Ledges, a trail that gets its name from the karst ledges riders have to traverse along the route. Portions of Rago have also been rebuilt to include rock features and jumps. These 40 miles will make you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere but are rideable from Slaughter Pen via the Greenway and Blowing Springs.

With 4 miles of hard surface trails and over 10 miles of soft surface multi-use nature trails, Lake Atalanta is a leisure and recreational hub in Northwest Arkansas. Walk, run, or bike the 2-mile boardwalk paved trail that loops around the lake with beautiful views and nature stops. The stops along the way have signage with information on the different ecosystems and animals that may be spotted from the trail, making it a perfect setting for a family venture. Lake Atalanta is also a trailhead with access to Frisco Springs Trail and The Railyard Loop that lead to other trails, The Railyard Bike Park, and a dog park. Plan to park at The Railyard Bike Park or dog park and hike or ride down to Lake Atalanta for an added experience. The trails are beginner to expert skill levels and the park provides amenities for bikers. The bike stations include tools, air pumps, and bike racks. The park features 6 fishing piers around the lake with signage at the entrance of the trail with the rules and regulations. Rowboats, canoes, and kayaks are permitted on the lake but nothing with a motor. Great menu and super close to Velvet Vista. They have everything from light fare burgers to fancy feasts/salmon. It's all great. So Shea is from Minnesota/Wisconsin and says they have some of the best cheese curds she's ever had. Totally worth checking out.
