Local Amenities

Closest town for fuel, dining and groceries. Piesano's stuffed shells or pizza is great! Also check out Glasstown Pizza or Freemers Market for wings. Morelli's, Scottish Heights or the Hut for breakfast are good choices too. There's a local grocery called Martino's and a Dollar General. A McDonald's, and Subway as far as local chains go.

Elk viewing area!! This is one our favorite things to do. The town of Benezette is known for being the Elk viewing hot spot! There are some dining spots and fuel available. You can drive through the mountains to guide yourself or there is a visitor center with neat exhibits on wildlife as well as a large area to view elk. Another feature to this area is Scripture Rock. Its an area that has a path with scriptures leading to a beautiful overlook of the mountains....a small walk for a big reward.

Food scene

AUTHENTIC Italian food. I mean, one of the best! Handmade pasta's and homemade sauces. A MUST. I always enjoy the fresh house bread with a bowl of their delicious marinara!

Farmers Inn -Small zoo, restaurant and more

This isn’t open all year BUT definitely fun and worth it if it is! Call for availability. This place is wonderful for kids! There’s a small zoo that kids can feed deer, goats and other animals. There a place to get ice cream, and a restaurant for meals. There’s also a place to hit gold balls, ride horses, mini golf, panning for gold, a bulk foods store with local goodies and an Amish furniture store too. This place is a must if you have kids and a nice time for adults too!

Don’t go here if you’re afraid of heights! Really fun if you want to be high up and see the mountains! It gets windy up there, depending on the time of year, bring a jacket. I don’t recommend bringing furry pets on this one.

This is a great place in the woods with trails, ginormous rocks and caves! It’s beautiful, quiet and green. There’s also lovely creeks running alongside the trail. It’s hard to imagine how old the rocks actually are and how much history they’ve seen. Also if you go during the right time, the trails have amazing laurel flowers. Tons!
