Surfer’s point adjoining Second Beach is a premier surfing location, and we always enjoy watching the activity. Although we are not surfers, a local experienced surfer recommends Island Surf and Sport, and Water Brothers – ask for Sid.

Newport Equestrian Academy is minutes away at 287 Third Beach Rd, Middletown. They offer lessons and wonderful scenic trail rides to and directly on the beach in the off season. Our kids have had a great time riding there, and especially enjoy lessons with Betsy. All activities must be scheduled in advance, so please call.

The Cliff Walk begins at Easton (First Beach) and continues for 3.5 miles of the most scenic coastline. Take your time for photos, or just simply to soak in the majestic views. There are various other entry-points, but be careful about parking – public parking is extremely limited in Newport. We have found that the Easton Beach entrance offers the best chance of parking at the meters, or at the lot. Take change for the meters.

Brenton Point State Park is a popular, breath-taking spot to fly your kite or to watch all the cool kites in the air. We love to pick up takeout and sit on the rocks to watch the waves crash.
