This is a 10 minute walk from our place and ticks so many boxes. Family friendly, open for breakfast, lunch and early dinner. Slow cooked BBQ meats with local craft beers and great local wines. Highly recommend.

Drive out towards Treble Cone ski field to walk around Diamond Lake. Awesome all year round and the lake can even be iced over in winter!! If you are feeling more adventurous and have a bit more energy you can head up to the lookout for amazing views over Lake Wanaka. Then to really cap it off you can go a further 40 minutes up the track to get to the top of Rocky Mountain!! The most amazing of views 360 degrees around. Our absolute favourite. Check track conditions before leaving as can be icy and a bit tricky in winter months.

We love this ski resort and this is where our kids learned to ski. Cardrona have totally nailed the family ski resort offering and have the most excellent customer service. A class act.
