Head north of city centre and arrive at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. This 27-acre (11-ha) park was made famous by its namesake bridge, which was built back in 1889, and has been added onto with even more attractions to let you experience the temperate rainforest of beautiful British Columbia.
Start your exploration by taking a vertigo-defying walk across the Capilano Suspension Bridge, gazing down at the Capilano River and at the towering conifers and pines that flank the mountainsides. From there, test your daring on the Cliffwalk, a cantilevered walkway that hugs a granite cliff face. In some sections, open grated walkways are all that stands between your feet and the canyon below.
Next, get a squirrel's-eye view of the forest at the Treetops Adventure, 7 suspension bridges nestled among the Douglas firs at heights up to 110 feet (33.5 m) above the forest floor. For a contactless experience, our Kids’ Rainforest Explorers Programme will now be offered in a downloadable Agents of Discovery App. Our Kids’ Rainforest Explorers Programme is a self-guided interactive kids programme which allows kids (of all ages) to explore the rainforest looking for signs and collecting research data while learning all about our West Coast rainforest. Before leaving, pay a visit to Kia'palano, where you can admire totem poles and learn about the history of British Columbia's First Nations people.

Grouse Mountain has been a destination for hikers and adventurers since 1894.The site has undergone extensive upgrades and expansions in the decades since the world’s first double chairlift was installed in 1949. It now offers visitors a range of ways to enjoy the stunning natural beauty.
Winter sports enthusiasts can choose from traditional snow activities, including skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing. There are dozens of ski runs, ranging from easy to black-diamond level for experts only. If you’re a beginner, book a ski or snowboard lesson before heading out.
If you prefer to relax while enjoying the sights, take a sleigh ride through the winter terrain. Snow "limos" are available, complete with experienced chauffeurs to take you on a sled ride of the slopes. In summer, book a zip line experience and soar above the canyons and forests.
Learn a little bit about the history and culture of the area at the entertaining Lumberjack Show. This 45-minute performance features axe throwing, a springboard chop, tree climb and log rolling. Performances are held three times a day from the May long weekend until the October long weekend and are weather dependent, so check the current conditions on the Grouse Mountain website before traveling.
Nature lovers should check out the Grouse Mountain Refuge for Endangered Wildlife and the Birds in Motion show. Look out for the informative ranger talks and learn about the local animals.
When you need to recharge, there are a number of restaurants and cafés located on-site, offering everything from quick snacks to five-star dining.
The proximity of the attraction to the center of Vancouver makes it a great option for a day trip.
Getting to Grouse Mountain is easy with buses running regularly from downtown Vancouver. It’s also a quick drive from downtown. Prices and activities vary for the busy winter and slower summer seasons.

Summer Sports
Deep Cove is a beautiful seaside village at the far eastern edge of North Vancouver. It’s a wonderful place for walks, hikes, kayaking and paddle boarding.
There are a couple of nice parks along the waterfront which on Friday evenings in the summer play host to free live music concerts. The sheltered bay is perfect for photos and boating, and kayak, paddle board, and canoe rentals are available during the warmer season. Boating of any kind in Deep Cove is highly recommended.
