Fun place to visit. Short Hike Downhill to a waterfall that you can walk behind. Continue down the trial for a stunning view of the Upper Sacramento River. Also catch the train as it appears across the river and goes through the forest.

Skiing / Snowboarding? Mt Shasta has a you covered. Reasonably Close from Redding for a day trip. Come back and enjoy the hot tub afterwards! Be sure to stop at Yaks on your way to or from the mountain and grab a delicious sticky bun and coffee or a ridiculously good and large hamburger (sharing is encouraged, but no judgement here).
