The hot chocolate is amazing, high quality, and goes especially well with the home made chocolates (try the champagne truffles and dark raspberry...) Just across the road from the cathedral.

Head out of Dornoch towards embo, and you will eventually, after about three miles, find yourself at Loch Fleet. There are a few places to stop and just enjoy the view, but go at the right time (when the tide is out) and you will see lots seals, resting on the sand banks, or popping their heads up to observe the humans.

Shopping

This is a fantastic shop located within what was once an actual jail. Worth a visit to see the cells, no longer housing prisoners, but now showcasing the best of Scottish cashmere, toiletries, jewellery, etc

If you are visiting Dornoch, this place is worth taking some time out to visit. It's about an hour's drive, but through the most spectacular scenery. A cup of tea and some home made cake will be an added bonus.
