If you're looking for a romantic dinner, look no further than Alexander's. The candle light, manicured topiaries, marble tables, and cozy decor make this a perfect spot for a date night. Not to mention the excellent selection of wines, mouth watering pasta, and stone-fired pizza.

You can’t visit San Diego without eating at a taco shop, and one of the best is a just a 3 block walk from the urban oasis. We love the Baja fish taco and the grilled fish taco. The vegetarian mushroom taco is on the secret menu and is delicious. Don’t miss the creamy green salsa from the salsa bar!

Hands down, this is some of the best pizza in San Diego, and it's only 6 blocks from the Urban Oasis! We like the Whitestone pizza but everything is delicious. If you're into salads (or Seinfeld), the "Elaine Benes Big Salad" is also a delight. For desert, treat yourself with the boozy peanut butter rum milkshake. Bonus: Tribute Pizza is located in the old North Park Post Office, and you can still buy stamps there :)

Hip, indoor/outdoor “heavy metal” themed venue with instachic decor. And you would never know that 100% of the food and drink menu is vegan. Do not miss!

Saiko is about a 20 minute walk from the urban oasis, and it is our favorite local sushi spot. The fish is so fresh and they serve the only seaweed salad I’ve ever liked. Pro tip: happy hour menu pricing is a GREAT deal, and is served daily until 6:30pm.

Looking for a refreshing snack or lunch? Mexican frutería style fresh fruit smoothies and juices. The torta sandwiches are amazing (I like the vegetarian with avocado 🥑)

Totally vegan fast-casual tacos (they do a jackfruit quesabirria with bits of Beyond meat, a plant-based fish taco, a California burrito, seitan asada, etc.) They’ve got a full cocktail menu and arroz con leche for dessert. Plant-based fast food is coming, and this is a good one (they’ve made sure to include employees in the ownership structure as well).

“Mabel’s is based on the experience of being somewhere on the Iberian peninsula and being almost…jealous?...of the ability of anyone, even people who live in small towns, to go to a local cafe that has simple and perfect food and enjoy a nice, sunny afternoon outside,” -proprietor Chelsea Coleman. The menu at Mabel’s, which is Spain and Portgual-inspired, is overwhelmingly focused on seafood, and features an impressive raw bar with oysters and kampachi, Spanish tapas, and gin forward cocktails. Try the padron peppers, paella onigiri, apple and mustard green salad, local swordfish schnitzel, burnt basque cheesecake, and the Spanish style “G and T” to drink
