15 Min Walk St. The Antuan Catholic Church is the largest and the largest Catholic Church in Istanbul.  It is located on the left side on Istiklal Street in Beyoglu, on the way from Galatasaray (on the side of Galatasaray High School) to the Tunnel. in 1230, the monks built a church in the vicinity of Galata in the name of their founder, St. Fransua of Assisi. after the 1639 fire, which burned down twice in 1660 and 1696, and the last fire that it had, the Church of St. Francua, which was reestablished in the same place after each fire, and the fire that engulfed the entire surrounding area, moved to its new location in Beyoğlu after the 1696 fire. in 1724, a new church called St. Antuan was built in Pera for Italian-French citizens and their families who were in the Ottoman Imperial palace and state service and were also engaged in trade.
