My children were practically raised here. My fave section is the bat cave, gemstones, and dinosaurs. If you are into history, there are lots of artifacts of war from all over the world. Their main exhibit changes frequently and reflects environmental, sociological, and cultural changes in our society.

Walk through the oldest university in Canada. The fields are green and speak with a few international students during the summer months. Look for Hart House and check out their quad and dining hall. Just gorgeous architecture inside! Weddings and fancy gatherings happen on the weekends. When school is on, you may be able to eat in the dining hall. See if they still take cash. If anyone asks what you are doing there, tell them you are visiting U of T as a potential school for your son/daughter. 7 Hart House Cir, Toronto, ON M5S 3H3

One of the natural wonders of the world. It's about a 1.5 hr drive from Toronto. Do the boat cruise it's exciting! Stay until it gets dark because they light up the falls. While you are there might as well visit the Butterfly Museum or Bird Kingdom.

This is a great interactive place for families to go to. I recall going here as a child and on school trips. They change their main exhibit every 3 months. They also have interesting movies on science in a fantastic one-of-a-kind theatre!

This is the biggest park in Toronto! Check out the peacocks at the zoo! This place is FREE. They have gorgeous cherry blossoms in the spring. A lot of cyclists and joggers. Look for the lake, it freezes over in the winter. I used to skate here in the winter as a child. Beautiful pathways to walk through to enjoy the outdoors. Take the College street tram, it will drop you off there in 25 minutes from my place.

You can walk there from my place in 35 minutes. Best not be afraid of heights! The elevator is wall-to-wall glass. There is an exclusive restaurant at the top. Go there in the evening for a drink and check out the spectacular view of lake Ontario in the dark. Did I mention that the restaurant revolves?

My parents used to take me here as a child to purchase fruit, veggies, nuts, pastries, and butchered meat. It is completely enclosed. Great place to also have a quick lunch. The food is fresh and the place is busy on the wknds. Once outside go for a walk and look for the flat iron building. The Gooderham Building, also known as the Flatiron Building, is a historic office building at 49 Wellington Street East in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

This is the biggest indoor mall in downtown Toronto. It takes up two subway stops. We have The Gap, Roots, Foot Locker etc. There is also a massive food court on the north side in the basement. Go to the center of the mall in the basement. There is a water fountain it takes 15 minutes to fill and shoots 100 feet in the air. Make a wish and throw change in!

Neighbourhoods

An interesting place to have a meal and walk around. The pedestrian-only Distillery District, set in quaint 19th-century buildings that once housed a large whiskey distillery, draws crowds to its cobblestone streets lined with hip indie restaurants, bars, and boutiques. Art lovers come for the galleries, outdoor sculptures and dance, music, and stage performances at the area's several theatres. In December, the annual Toronto Christmas Market takes over the streets.

Food scene

There are so many good places to eat at. Ask me and I will give you a list of places to go to. Thai, Jamaican, Italian, French, Greek, Spanish, vegetarian, fast food etc. One person asked me where to get a good steak. I told them, that depended on how much they wanted to spend. Is it about the food experience or the food?
15 minutes walk from my place. Go here to pick up exotic fruit, veggies, souvenirs, and dim sum. Try to find mangosteen or dragonfruit. I go to Rol San or Swatow for dim sum. It's gritty but yummy.
