These are nice walks from the apartment. A small section is on Houserville Rd which can get busy between 7:45-9:00am and from 5:15-6:00pm. Most of the walk is through quiet neighborhoods. Just walk down the driveway and take a left onto Houserville Rd.

Spring Creek Canyon is a 12mile out and back from State College to Bellefonte along Spring Creek away from traffic. You can of course shorten it. There is an entrance/parking area on Rock Rd. Just go down driveway and take a left onto Houserville Rd and then Rock Rd.

Founded in 1887, the Meyer family has been serving the State College community for over 100 years. The ice cream is good and there are picnic tables to sit outside and enjoy with your dog. I like the brownie batter flavor, my dog likes the lemon curd.
