Playa Del Coco is the center of 4 beaches that comprise the southern ring of Golfo Papagayo. The volcanic black sand beach stretches more than a mile. Next to the beach, there were about 50 restaurants, cafes and bars, dive shops, surf shops, 5 super markets, gyms and beach clubs that offers short term memberships, a gas station, and souvenirs shops.

Panama Beach is the easternmost of the 4 beaches in the Coco area. While a few years ago there were mostly sugarcane fields and mango farms, the beach has attracted trendy luxury hotels recently, with more planned. Playa Panama offers excellent sunset view as it faces the mouth of Golfo Papagayo to the west. It is only 15 minute drive from the international airport. There is a coffee roaster nearby. it is also close to service businesses around the airport, including car rental companies and PriceMart (similar to Costco).
