The Model Palace, another work of the Helmer and Fellner workshops, like the theater, was completed in 1885. On the facades there are alternating peaceful neo-Renaissance decorations with playful neo-baroque. The luxurious ornament of the facade follows the decoration of the interior and especially the stucco of the festive hall. "Model" illustrates Rijeka's ambition in imitating the Viennese Ring and constantly competing with the competing Trieste. Today, the Palace of the City Library and the headquarters and cultural club of the Italian Union, the popular "Circolo italiano di cultura", are housed in the palace.

Trsat Castle (Croatian: Gradina Trsat) is a castle in Trsat, Croatia. It is thought that the castle lies at the exact spot of an ancient Illyrian and Roman fortress. The Croatian noble Vuk Krsto Frankopan is buried in one of the churches. The Trsat castle was completely reconstructed and renovated in the 19th century when the mausoleum of the military commander Laval Nugent was built in its interior. The courtyard of the castle has now been turned into a restaurant and many tourists visit the place during the summer months.

If you have decided to go to Trsat, continue walking along the bridge. Before climbing on Trsat, you can see the center of Susak placed on the left bank of Rječina. At the so-called. Delti, the space between the old and new Corridor Rjecina, is today dominated by the Liberation Monument of Matković, erected after the Second World War. Between the two World Wars, the border between the Kingdom of Italy and the Kingdom of Yugoslavia (within which Croatia was then) spread between the two World Wars.

The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the people for centuries, known as the Vela Crikva and the Duomo, is a sacred center for which we can now assume with great probability the foundations of an early Christian cult place. The original center of the cult was developed in the area of Roman public (military) bath, whose remains were only partly explored around the churches. Representative thermal rooms were equipped with mosaic floors and are still preserved on the asphalt of Pul Vele Crikve Square. Over the ruins of the term in the Middle Ages was erected a bell tower in which basically the well-seen second-hand stone blocks were taken over from some ancient building.

The most significant sanctuary in Kvarner dedicated to Mary, and the oldest in Croatia, bases its history on the transfer of the Nazareth House from the Holy Land on 10 May 1291 to Trsat, in the Trsat Plains, and from here to Loreto, Italy, on 10 December 1294. Mary’s Trsat has become, at the international level, the most recognized Croatian sanctuary in the triangle Nazareth-Trsat-Loreto. The Church is open daily from 6:30 - 19:30 Mass is held Monday to Friday at 7:00, 8:00, 9:00 and 19:00; Sundays and holidays at 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, 11:30 and 19:00 Confession is held from 7:00-12:00 and from 15:00-19:30

In the northwest corner of Titov Square stands a Baroque chapel with a relief of Madonna with the Child on its front. This passable chapel resembles a small triumphal arch and marks the beginning of the Petar Kružić Stairway that lead to the famous pilgrimage centre, the Franciscan monastery at Trsat. The steps were built in 1531 by order of Warlord Petar Kružić, and were built up over the centuries (up to today's over 500 steps) and adorned with votive chapels.

"Old doors" or so called. The Roman arch is not a triumphal glory as it used to be, but a representative portal of the main entrance to Pretoria, a military commando from the late antiquity. The Old Gate or the Roman Arch is not a Roman arch, as it was once assumed, but a representative main entrance to the center of the late Roman Command of Roman Tarsat, an ancient city over whose ruins the medieval Rijeka was raised. Rijeka's puk instinctively was right when this ancient monument in the past simply referred to Vratima and the name of the Roman arch gradually began to be accepted from the period of classicism when it began with its documentation and exploration.

As a suggestion for an alternative trip for the more enduring ones, who also have at least a few free hours available, it is worth mentioning the Kalvarija climb. Its starting point is easily recognized as a path that north of the cathedral stems from the mentioned Ul. victims of fascism, moving further northward. You will walk to the remains of the Baroque Chapel of the Cross. The ambiance is complemented by the overlapping of granite cobblestones and rustically carved scalinates. The entire existing urbanistic-architectural complex of the mostly secessionist atmosphere originated at the beginning of the 20th century, after the demolition of the feudal castle located on the site of the Judicial Palace. The palace was designed by the Budapest architect G. Czigler, and the palace from the opposite side of the street is prominent by the Croatian secessionist architect G. Rubinich. The dunes and the suburbs built with monumental rustics, even with stylized "cannon openings", is a remarkable and sad reminder of the fortifications that have been removed by this procedure.

Mošćenice, medieval town above Mošćenička Draga and Saint John Beach is closely linked to the glagolithic tradition. The town is mentioned in the period of Slavic colonization – the Croats came here in the 7th and 8th century A.D. After settling down, the new inhabitants quickly discovered the possibility of living in this idyllic stretch of land at the foot of the mountain, which they named after their God of Thunder - Perun. Perun is linked to Trebišće, a village hidden from the sun, banished to exist in eternal shade and to spend its fairytale historic life in bygone times.
