There is something delicious and affordable for everyone. Nightlife includes watching sporting events, karaoke, or DJ. Shannon grew up going to The Tavern (as it was called). Two of our children at UL enjoy eating there now!

In 2010 Patrick O’Shea’s opened in Downtown Louisville. The O’Shea family reclaimed a four-story historic building in the Iron Quarter, adding O’Shea’s style, charm and legendary welcome to the downtown renaissance. This is one of my wife, Shannon‘s favorite place to go when she hits a concert at the Yum Center or for dinner for a ‘girls night out’. The O’Shea’s have been entertaining Louisville locals for decades!

Butchertown is a hip, up-and-coming neighborhood with a renovated meatpacking warehouse like the Butchertown market, now home to shops selling artesian chocolates, handmade soaps and quirky home ware. Copper and Kings distillery offers Brandy tastings, while 19th century buildings house trendy modern American eateries, cocktail bars and craft beer pubs. The Thomas Edison house displays some of his inventions. One of Louisville‘s oldest neighborhoods, Butchertown, just east of downtown, was the cities original meatpacking district with butcher shops dominating the area in the 1800s. These days, though one large meatpacker still anchors the area, Butchertown is in the middle of a Renaissance and has been spruced up with tasty restaurants, chic boutiques, the city’s first brandy distillery, a state of the art soccer stadium and growing options for shopping, dining and entertainment.
