The coffee is great and the food is fantastic. The specials are generally brilliant, but if you cant decide what to eat, have the fried rice.

Open until 10pm, Harris Farm is a great source of easy to use quick food. They have everything from fruit and veg, meat, seafood, cheese, a great bakery, fresh diary products, you name it. I love their range or ready to go meals. The seafood section has some great ready to heat meals, as does the pasta section and most other sections. Their almond croissants are great too.

This is a great place for a quiet beer. They brew their own beer of course, and they are brilliant beers. The food varies depending on the chefs at the time. Some times it is brilliant, but it varies.

Ugees is part of the old west end scene. Charlton has owned it for many years, and he makes a very good coffee. It is central and has its crusted on regulars. It's looking pretty sad of late, but it is right next door to the best Bahn Mi in town. Good for a quick nice coffee, but if you're after vibe, the cafe right over the road might be better.

These Banh Mi are great value and so very tasty. I get the grilled pork, but the slightly more expensive pork belly is very very good too. The chicken is great and the spring rolls are also very good. This is a great value meal, and I will often buy a couple to have one for dinner too! Dont go to the other Bahn Mi place on Vulture Street, just Anna's.

At the intersection of Montague and Jane Street, his brand new distillery makes a mean gin and has a great vibe.

12-2pm Mon - Sun is lunch special time. $15 for any pizza on the menu and these pizza's rock!! These pizzas are the real deal. The Boundary is a nice pub with good food, but the pizza's are the main attraction.

The name is crazy, but the food is very nice and not a too expensive. Even the trio of dips is yummy.

Kiki is the bar and Southside is the Resturant. The Resturant is A1 dining, and worth the money, but not cheap. I'll often end up here for a $12 glass of wine or beer when out for a walk on a summer evening. If you're after beer, find my listings here for either Brisbane Brewing or Saccharomyces... and YES, that's a shit name for a great bar.

I meet the owner when he had a modest cafe in Melbourne and was thrilled he moved here and set up close bye. Julius was one of the first places on fish lane and it has a great and loyal following. the great thing is you can walk and dont need to find a park, which is almost impossible in that end of town. Walk the length of fish lane and Julius is right up the far end at the intersection with grey street.

fish lane also has saccharomyces, a bar cafe with a strong local following. when it opened it was one of the only bars on fish lane, but now it's right in the middle of some serious lane way action. this is a locals spot and worth a look for the beer lover with some reasonably priced beers, wines, burgers and snacks.

Walking fish lane is a must do for your stay in this part of brisbane. Use your phone and start at one end and just walk. Day or night, but night might have more action with bars open etc. Keep an eye out for the amazing street art. There are so many great restaurants and bars along Fish Lane. Don't settle on the first one you come too, walk the length, its not long, then come back to your #1 pick... because they are all very nice in their own way.
