Essentials

There is a small grocery shop in Las Negras itself, in the main road. It has all essentials, reasonable prices, and fresh fish on Saturdays. if you want to store food a longer time head to CampoHermoso where there is a big LIDL supermarket.

Arts & Culture

A little jewel of a pueblo just inside the coastline. It has a annual show called "Rodalquilart" (not sure when it runs but you can check!. It has a few art shops and decorated house, worth a visit to the galleries and for a drink in the main little square.

Sightseeing

Take a walk to the beautiful cala de San Pedro which lays behind the Cerro Negro. It is a 45' walk, doable with children too (with some care in certain passages). At the cala there are a couple of "semi"bars (which would sell water, tea, coffee and some snacks) and public toilets, but make sure you have enough water with you and do not take the walk in the hottest hours of the day.

Shopping

For local crafts head to the nice town of Nijar. The main street leading to the old part of town has a few shops with local artisanal products, some of them quite good.

Parks & Nature

there are plenty of awesome places in Cabo de Gata, just start exploring! You will need the car and beware as in full summer, parking lots of the park can get very crowded and once full you will not be allowed to enter the park.

Food Scene

The restaurant of the social club La Tercera Edad (literally, it is the social centre for elderly people of the village) en Isleta del Moro is something really unique. Awesome food (mainly local fresh fish) at very reasonable prices, and a very local friendly setting that you cannot miss. Book in advance!

The best place for breakfasts - but also for very good lunches - is the restaurant directly facing the beach in the centre of Las Negras. Not sure how it is called, but ask around for the restaurant of el Cacho (the family running the supermarket and many other places in Las Negras).

Drinks & Nightlife

Stunning views of Isleta del Moro, live music, drinks...perfect for the sunset hour, do not get there too late as it gets very crowded. A very special place. Driving from Rodalquilar to Isleta del Moro, it is located in a dirty road to the left, just before turning to Isleta. There is a sign with a sun with a face to indicate it. Beware, Airbnb is indicating here the wrong location but I cannot change it!

They have a calendar of live music, mostly flamenco, and the place is really stunning for a night full of stars, the desert, and music.
