More than a coffee shop... French shabby chic in the true sense. Hidden in a residential neighbourhood, I often wish this establishment was right next to my place. Delicious crepes, quiches, baked goods, proper lattes, and the occasional homemade italian sugar sprinkled donuts arrive in a hand basket.

Located in the heart of Gastown, intimate decor and setting, with food and service that never disappoint. Everything is amazing on the menu. Also a great place just to have a cocktail. I would go there solo, on a date, or good for small groups. This has been a favourite restaurant of mine since it opened years ago.

Authentic Japanese izakaya (bbq tapas) restaurant. Reservations recommended on peak days Thursday to Saturday. Rain or shine best hiking loop for those that are a little more adventurous. Hike ascends up then descends down through the forests of North Vancouver mountains. The loop takes about 1.5hrs. Dogs are permitted on leash (though you will find many dogs are off leash).

If you like nature and experience hiking with a masochistic tone, then take on the 3km vertical climb up the Grouse Grind. It never actually gets easier but it's always rewarding and you feel like a champ when you get to the top. Knowing you will burn 1000 calories and that there is cold beer at the top is also a good motivator. PS. You can also just take the gondola up but that is a costly option. Recommended you take the gondola ride back down for $10. Many other sight seeing attractions are found at the top. Trail open from May long weekend to October long weekend and weather permitting. Check the website to make sure it is open: https://www.grousemountain.com/current_conditions
