The best Mexican food within walking distance. A good balance between Tex-Mex and some more traditional options on the menu. Good for something classically San Antonio.

A great fine dining restaurant within walking distance. If you need a more formal date night or a place for a business dinner this would be my recommendation. They have a classic menu with typically great execution.

A little farther from the Casita, but one of the best places to spend an evening. I would get a drink at Hotel Emma which is a beautiful space in a restored brewery. Then stop by Cured for dinner which is also in a very interesting restored building. They have fantastic house made charcuterie. Then finish off the night with a drink at the Modernist who has the best cocktails in town. It's in an old house across the street so I would google it. Pearl Brewery Bonus: The farmers market on Saturday and Sunday in the morning Bakery Lorraine: great sandwiches and pastries Brown Coffee: The best coffee in town made by some overly committed/serious baristas. High Street Wine Bar

So they only have carnitas on the menu... and they are amazing. With good salsa, pork and great tortillas I highly recommend it. But be aware they only have carnitas. It is farther south in a less developed area with awkward parking, but they probably have the best tacos I know.

If you want the "Most San Antonio" restaurant in town this has to win. Order chicken puffy tacos with a bean cup and your soft drink of choice (Big Red is a city favorite but I think it's nasty) and you have hit peak San Antonio. It's a dive and you have to sit outside but this is a a perfect example of a local place you can't really find anywhere else.

My favorite coffee place in town. They perhaps take coffee too seriously, but it is delicious and all roasted in house. I highly reccomend it.

Good spot to sit outside and watch a Spurs game. For a casual place to get a beer nearby this is probably your best option.
