Entertainment & Activities

A good number of events and community connections, including English classes, International & cultural events, and regular Sunday services. The church meets at 25 Bath Street, 73 Claremont Street (south Kelvingrove area), and also in Queenspark. The history of the church dates back to 1687 (although some of the members have changed during that time). From 1940 until 2013 the church met on Buchanan Street in the SGT building (St Georges Tron).

Just a really quiet place with lots to see, including the underground dis-used railway station (if you can find it). The river kelvin runs alongside, deep under the road local system linking the Botanics with Kelvingrove Park.

Not widely known until the TV series, Outlander, made it quite famous. From the road, you can see nothing with virtually no signposts and very few parking spaces, but off the road and 150 steps down, into a 70ft gorge reveals a stunning place to explore. Well worth a visit but remember that emergency services are sometimes called to rescue people. In 2017 the BBC was accused of putting lives at risk by promoting a 'dangerous gorge as one of the most "magical" and "fun" places to explore in Scotland.' (The Express, 27 Aug 2017) Note: even when it has been dry for 6 weeks, there are risks involved with wet surfaces on uneven steps, and rocks falling down the sides of the gorge.

About an hour south of Glasgow, access to the grounds is free and parking is also free if you park at the beach (Maidens) and walk up into the grounds. Incredibly scenic and often the weather is mysteriously different from other parts of West Scotland.
