Amazing spot for brunch on weekends. Monica and Leisah do it up right. Hybrid of an event caterer and restaurant. It's almost impossible to walk-in. Mostly open Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm. It's not always open when you want (need) it. So check if they are and MAKE RESERVATIONS by emailing info@homemadehudson.com.

Bar in a reimagined auto repair shop. Lots of live music and great indoor/outdoor spots to hang out. If you have young kids and want a place you can grab a drink with a toddler or stroller, on most any afternoon there will be others like you. Opens early morning for coffee. Cool late too.

Greatest music venue between NYC and Montreal!! Top of the line acts. There is not a bad seat in the house and it has one of the best sound systems around. Only 5 minute walk! It has a restaurant in front, the cub is in back and there is a special events ballroom above the restaurant. Great courtyard. It's a great scene.

Book store, beer & wine bar and art supplies, all in a restored fire house (hence the Dalmatian reference). Live music and readings, or just hang out and drink and read. Nothing else like it.

More than a bar, The Maker Lounge has changed the Hudson landscape in the few months since its opening. This will eventually be the bar/lounge for the much grander The Maker Hotel complex. But until the hotel, restaurant and gym open, The Maker Lounge is pretty amazing all on its own. Styled after a bordello/speakeasy (you even enter on the corner of 3rd Street and Prison Alley). The patio (with lap pool) is stunning during warm weather. The staff is top notch and the bar food selections are pretty awesome as well. They only let in the number of people who can be seated at any given time. If you only go out to one place, make this the place you go.

The reservoir that once powered a large mill in Philmont, feeds the tallest waterfall in Columbia County. It's a 15 minute drive from Hudson and well worth the trip. It's a relatively short hike to the falls. While there are signs posted saying no swimming, it's one of the best swimming holes around. Back up into the waterfall and be transformed. http://clctrust.org/discover/public-conservation-areas/discover-our-places-high-falls/

Cool art, performance and event space directed by Melissa Auf der Maur (Smashing Pumpkins, Hole). Depending on the weekend Basilica might be doing a Farm & Flea Market, or the incredible 24-Hour Drone or Soundscape Music Festivals, Art Installation or holding a wedding. But whatever is happening, this 19th century former iron factory is a must see in Hudson.
