Start your walk or run downtown along the Riverfront just by stepping outside. You can follow the path along the water until the River Front apartments where you'll need to follow the sidewalk, but don't stop, once you reach Joe Louis Arena the path continues again. The city is looking to extend the route all the way to Belle Isle. In the meantime you can get about a 2 miles out before it ends. If you continue along the sidewalk of Jefferson you will reach the right turn to cross the bridge.
