There's a beautiful hiking trail just along the north side of Loyola Marymount University. It only about a 15 minute drive away. Park on Bluff Creek Drive off of Lincoln and walk back up the hill south on Lincoln. Just before the driveway entrance to the campus you'll see a black iron gate. Its not really keeping anybody out when its closed just walk around the side of it and you'll be on the trail. You can walk on the high trail and then come back on the low trail or exit at the end of the high trail and walk back towards Lincoln along Bluff Creek Drive passing the new Google Campus, a dog park, a soccer field and some other interesting points along the way. About 4 miles/ takes an hour.
